Head over to Emerald Isle Woods Park! This 41-acre park features a wooded walking trail, a scenic boardwalk that leads to Bogue Sound, a floating fishing dock, and a fun nine-hole disc golf course. It’s a dog-friendly trail in Emerald Isle, so long as you keep your four-legged friends on a leash!

The main walking trail provides some nice shade on a sunny day and will take you through both forest and wetlands, with beautiful views and plenty of chances for birdwatching. It’s an easy, relaxing path—perfect for a morning stroll or a quiet afternoon outside. The park is also part of the North Carolina Birding Trail, so keep an eye out for herons, ospreys, and other coastal birds as you explore.
