The MacDaddy Winter Festival, Black History Celebration & More on North Carolina's Crystal Coast

Winter is here, but that doesn't mean the fun, festivities, educational opportunities and local eventMacDaddy's Winter Festival on the Crystal Coast of NCs have to end on the Crystal Coast. There's plenty to do each and every weekend on the coast, no matter what the season. Here are some of the event highlights for the upcoming weekend. There's also a preview of one of February's most popular events: The Carolina Chocolate Festival, which happens on the first weekend of that month. It's coming soon. Enjoy!

Fun for the Kids at MacDaddy's 4th Annual Winter Festival in Cape Carteret
This Saturday, January 25 is MacDaddy's 4th Annual Winter Festival from 10a.m. to 5p.m. There is fun for the entire family with activities that include face painting, a cake walk, and other games for kids of all ages (and kids-at-heart). The day includes vendors showcasing arts and crafts, jewelry, clothes, beauty products, home decor, and so much more.

Black History Celebration on the Crystal Coast
Carteret Community College holds its 17th Annual Black History Celebration at 6:30p.m. on Monday, January 27 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center on Arendell Street in Morehead City. The theme is "Civil Rights in Americaā€¯ with guest speaker Reverend Kojo Nantambu, pastor of Green Oak Missionary Church in Charlotte and President of the Charlotte Branch of the NAACP. Carolina Chocolate Festival Preview
It's that time of year agaiCarolina Chocolate Festival on the Crystal Coast of NCn. Calling all chocolate lovers to the Carolina Chocolate Festival held annually during the first weekend in February. This year's event occurs on Saturday and Sunday, February 1-2 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City. The Carolina Chocolate Festival is a sumptuous celebration of chocolate and charity. This non-profit, indulgent extravaganza has raised over $380,000 for 30 local charities. If chocolate spas, cocoa runs and chocolate bingo sound tempting, this is the event for you.

The Week of Chocolate kicks off next week on Tuesday, January 28 and continues right up to the festival. Stay tuned next week, and we'll give you all of the decadent details of this popular local event. Don't miss it!
