Emerald Isle Beach Fun for Everyone
There is beach fun for everyone in February with wide open beaches and miles of shoreline. The off-season is less crowded so that means more beach for you. Here are a few of the best things to do on the beach right now.
Shelling: Less people on the beach translates to more shells for you! Get out there and see what coastal treasures there are to be discovered. Emerald Isle is an awesome location for finding seashells, sea glass, sand dollars and shark teeth. Winter storms have churned up some of the sand and washed up an interesting mix of hidden and not-so-hidden finds. Grab your beach bag or bucket and set out on a shelling adventure. Don't forget to use this Emerald Isle shelling guide to help you along the way.
Surf Fishing: You don't need much to have a surf fishing experience on the beach. A surf-fishing rod, some bait or lures, and a cooler to hold your catch are about it. Don't forget your NC fishing license, of course. Who knows what you'll reel in and what fish stories you'll have to tell after a day of fishing on the beach. The movies are always family-oriented and children must be accompanied by an adult.
This month's featured film is the 2010 blockbuster hit: Disney's "Alice Through the Looking Glass" (Rated PG). You can find each month's featured film by calling Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation the Monday of the movie week or by checking the online Emerald Isle events calendar.
