The Beaufort Music Festival Is On the Move

26th Annual Beaufort Music FestivalAs the 26th Annual Beaufort Music Festival quickly approaches, there are some things you should know about this year's festival. Changes are in place for the Beaufort Music Festival (BMF), which is slated for Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10.

Held annually on the 2nd weekend in May, this beloved Crystal Coast festival has grown year after year becoming both a local and visitor favorite. Formerly held on Front Street in the downtown waterfront area of Beaufort, the festival has expanded to a larger venue at Gallants Channel. The BMF is striving to keep the original vibe of festivals past, while accommodating the increasing number of people and offering a more festival-like platform for the event.

Friday evening kicks off the festival with all of the traditional elements of the BMF including free live music, the downtown atmosphere and waterfront ambiance. Middle Lane is the place to be for performances by St. Paul and the Broken Bones, one of the hottest new bands out of Birmingham, Alabama, as well as The Spread and Kudubai. Music starts at 4p.m.

On Saturday, the Beaufort Music Festival moves to its new location at Gallants Channel. The festival begins at noon and the day's events are now ticketed. BMF tickets purchased in advance cost $20; $25 the day of the festival (children ages 12 and under are admitted free). The new venue allows for expanded areas for local favorite food vendors, a beer garden, grassy areas for blankets, a large family and kids' area and more.

Saturday's musical lineup includes Bare Noble, If Birds Could Fly, The Low Counts, The Primate Fiasco, Yarn, and Donna the Buffalo. You can read more about the performance lineup including times and band bios here.
