The Atlantic Beach Saltwater Kingfish Classic Fishing Tournament Celebrates Its 35th Year

The Crystal Coast has its fair share of local fishing tournaments and the month of September is no different. The AtlanticAtlantic Beach Saltwater Kingfish Classic Beach Saltwater Kingfish Classic fishing tournament takes place Thursday, September 12 through Saturday, September 14. The reel action begins at 6:30a.m. on Saturday and Sunday when the lines are dropped in the local waters.

The tournament offers a first place King Mackerel payout of $20,000, which is quite a purse. Onsite registration runs from 3-8p.m. on Thursday and the Team and Family Meeting is held at 7p.m. that same evening. Fishing times on Friday and Saturday are from 6:30a.m. to 5p.m. The scales open at 3p.m. each day and the weigh-in line closes at 5p.m. The tournament wraps up Saturday evening at 7p.m. with the Awards Ceremony.

The Atlantic Beach Saltwater Kingfish Classic headquarters are at McCurdy's Restaurant & Deck in Atlantic Station.
