Sunset Dinner Cruise (June 3, 10, 17, 24):
From 7pm until 9:30 pm every Wednesday night through August, you can enjoy Italian Night on the Crystal Coast Lady. This cruise begins at The Boathouse on Front Street Village in Beaufort and includes a free wine tasting. Make your reservations on their website
Ballroom Dancing Class (June 3, 10, 17, 24): Nicole Futrell will be giving lessons at the Emerald Isle Recreation Center every Wednesday from 7 pm until 8 pm. This month, the featured dance is the East Coast Swing. Beginners are welcome, and you don’t have to have a partner to participate. Even those of you with two left feet (aka myself) can enjoy this fun dance! Register today at the Emerald Isle Community Center.
Hope for the Warriors Auction (June 4): With proceeds going to support the Hope for the Warriors at Camp Lejeune, this event in Pine Knoll Shores will feature a live and silent auction. Later this month, another Hope for the Warriors event will also be taking place in Pine Knoll Shores, so don’t miss out on this great opportunity to support our troops.
Morehead City Marlins Baseball Games (June 4, 8, 12, 18, 21, 24, 26, 29): With summer gearing up to be a fabulous one, make sure you and your family make this a part of your summer "to-do’s.” Participating in America’s favorite pastime has never been more fun than at O’Neil Park at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City! Join our local baseball team, the Marlins for great nights all summer long!
Moonlight Cruise (June 4, 11, 18, 25):
If you didn’t get enough of the lovely Crystal Coast aboard the Crystal Coast Lady during the Sunset Cruise, you can join them again on Thursday nights from 9:15pm until 10:15pm after a dinner at the Boathouse in Beaufort. A romantic evening with your sweetheart, or a memorable time with friends, either way, this is a great way to get to know our beautiful coastal waters. Find out more on their website!
Alive at Five Outdoor Concert (June 5, 19):
Join us in Morehead City from 5pm until 8pm for a free concert! You can find out which bands are playing on their website
, but one thing is for sure: this is a great way to wind down after a fun day at the beach!
Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament (June 5-13):
This is a huge deal to the locals here along the Crystal Coast! This event lasts a week with daily weigh-ins to see who can catch the biggest Marlin! One of the largest and oldest fishing tournaments along the Crystal Coast, this event is a fun, exciting way to also be able to contribute to various non-profits and local organizations. Hope for the Warriors Kayak Race (June 6):
As the second Hope for the Warriors event this month, this is a great way to give back to the soldiers and families of soldiers in the area. All skill levels are welcome to participate in the kayak and paddle board races. Kayaks will be available for those who’d like to participate, but don’t already own a kayak. Beaufort Old Homes Tour Kick-Off Party (June 6): The Beaufort Old Homes Tour weekend is coming up soon and to celebrate, there will be an awesome kick-off party! With food from the Olde Beaufort Farmer’s Market, seafood from Fishtowne, and an art show from local artist Claiborne Gregory, this party will be a great way to get to know Beaufort a little better!
Summer Concert Series (June 6, 13, 20, 27): Just along the picturesque Morehead City Waterfront, the Morehead City Parks and Recreation Center will be hosting the Summer Concert Series. From 7pm-8pm on Saturday evenings at Jaycee Park, free concerts will be performed by local bands. Open to the public, this is a great way to enjoy a lovely weekend along the Crystal Coast!
Seaside Cinemas (June 10, 17, 24):
Enjoying a day at the beach? Why not stick around a little longer and watch a movie…for free?! Free movies under the stars will be shown at the Atlantic Beach Pavilion on the Circle starting around 8:30pm when the sun goes down. Check out the schedule for these fantastic family-friendly classics that will be shown throughout the month by going on their website
NC Maritime Museum’s Maritime Day (June 13):
Bring the family for this fun day at Gallants Channel (an extension of the Maritime Museum). Free to the public, you can enjoy fishing, games, music, sailing on a traditional wooden boat, and more! If you are already a Friend of the Maritime Museum free lunch is also included, or for a minimal charge if you are not currently a Friend. This event lasts form 11am until 2pm. Kids Fishing Day (June 13): From 8am until noon, you can bring the kids out for a fun morning fishing at Cedar Point Swamp in Newport. Free lunch is available to all participants and limited fishing gear will also be provided. This is a great way to get outside and get into nature!
Concert Series at Fort Macon (June 13, 20):
Another brilliant music event for your summer afternoon on the Crystal Coast will take place at historic Fort Macon from 7pm until 8pm. Different genres will be playing throughout the summer, so don’t miss out on a single one! For more information on the bands that will be performing, you can visit the Fort Macon website.
BluSail Gallery’s "Art Tour 2015” (June 15):
For all the little artists out there, BluSail Gallery is offering summer camps featuring various themes all summer. By the end of the camp, children will have two paintings and two pieces of pottery to take home with them! More information on contacts and sign up can be found on their website.
Rachel Carson Reserve Summer Field Trips Three different, free camps are available for all ages at the Rachel Carson reserve this summer! You can make a reservation (as boat space is limited) on their website. You can also get more information about what to bring for the various field trips whether it be the nature trail, boardwalk trip, or the circumnavigation cruise. These are all sure to be full of fun and adventure.

EmeraldFest Summer Concert Series (June 18, 25):
Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a free concert right here in Emerald Isle every Thursday through August. Enjoy the music of the Crystal Coast at the Western Ocean Regional Access facility. A great way to end the evening right before heading back to your Emerald Isle vacation rental. More information about bands can be found on this website.
Plein Air Art on the Waterfront (June 20): Every third Saturday of the month, this great event is open to artists of all skills and ages and to anyone who wants to simply enjoy the local art! Held throughout the Downtown Beaufort area, artists set up shop in front of the Big Rock Fountain and create an original piece of art right before your eyes! Sponsored by Arts and Things, artwork is also available for purchase.
Carteret Community Theatre presents "The Dining Room” (June 20, 21, 26, 28):
Join the talented Carteret Community Theatre for their presentation of "The Dining Room,” a play written by American playwright A.R. Gurney. For show times and advance tickets, you can check out the Carteret Community Theatre website.
Father’s Day (June 21): Happy Father’s Day to all the great Dads out there! I don’t know where I would be without mine, and so I hope that everyone takes the time today to remember the father figures in their lives.
Summer Drama Camps (June 22-26):
From 9am until 2pm for a week in June, children from grades 5-12 will be able to learn from the talented actors at the Carteret Community Theatre. Learn about the art of acting and have a great time too! Find out more information about registration on their website
55th Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour (June 26, 27):
Learn more about the unique history of Beaufort with this amazing tour of local historic homes, gardens, art studios, and more! Guided tours of the Old Burying Grounds and a narrated bus tour will also be available. An antique car show will also be open for viewing. This is a fabulous way to experience this little coastal town! You can find out more information on this event on their website
Antique Show and Sale (June 26):
Forty booths of antiques as well as a gourmet tea room will be open to the public in conjunction with the Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour. Located at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, this is a fantastic place to find a unique souvenir, a gift for a friend, or just learn some history.
