Visit the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall in Morehead City
The wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., standing six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end. This Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. It was made for the purpose of helping heal and rekindle friendships, and to allow people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their hometown who otherwise may not be able to make the trip to Washington. Round-the-clock viewing of the memorial commences following the opening ceremony scheduled for 11a.m. on Friday, May 26th until 8:30a.m. on Tuesday, May 30th when a brief closing ceremony is held. Attend a Memorial Day Ceremony on the Crystal Coast
Spend part of the Memorial Day holiday paying your respects and honoring those who have sacrificed for our country by attending a local Memorial Day service or ceremony. On May 29, 2017 at 10a.m., a Veterans Memorial Service
is held at the Bayview Cemetery on North 20th Street in Morehead City. There is also the Carteret County Veterans Memorial Ceremony
at Courthouse Square in Beaufort.

on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 9p.m. along the boardwalk at the Circle beach access. Bring your chairs and blankets, but please leave your pets at home.
The SwanFest Concert Series is in full swing this Memorial Day holiday and is held on the lovely historic Swansboro waterfront. The free summer concert series features various live musicians in a range of genres each Sunday evening from 6:30-8p.m. The Pavilion at Olde Town Square is where it all happens; all you need to bring is your favorite lawn chair or a blanket so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the music.
