Carteret Local Food Network Luncheon (April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th)
Join the students of Carteret Community College Culinary Arts Program for a delicious lunch every Wednesday this month! Make your reservations now and get a taste of these multi-course meals by our student chefs as they show off all they have learned! This event takes place at the Culinary Arts building on the Community College Campus and proceeds go towards the Culinary Arts Program.
Beaufort Historic Site Easter Egg Hunt (April 4th)
Come and celebrate with the whole family at the Annual Beaufort Historic Site Easter Egg Hunt! Joining with the National Charity League, this fun event is completely free and lots of fun! Children ages seven and younger are welcome to participate in the Egg Hunt and enjoy light refreshments. Don’t miss out on this fun, Easter event.
Easter Sunday (April 5th)

Merry Time for Tots: Shark Tales! (April 8th)
For those of you with little tots, join the wonderful staff at the Maritime Museum as they teach all about sharks! From teeth, to fin, to tail, your kiddos get to learn all about these great creatures of the deep, and have fun doing it too! Open for ages 2-5 years, you can call and make your reservations ahead of time for this fun event!
Free Friday Flick (April 10th)
The Free Friday Flick at the Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Center this month is "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” Bring your whole family and share some popcorn and drinks (for only a dollar each) at this fun night at the movies!
Kayaking for Kids (April 10th)
This event is perfect for the beautiful spring weather here on the Crystal Coast! Join the Maritime Museum with your children ages 15-18 years to enjoy a fun day of kayaking in our pristine waters. All skill levels can enjoy this event as they receive instruction in safety and kayaking techniques. The fee is only $45 and $25 if you already own a kayak. It also includes a guided tour around the salt marsh habitat. You can find out more information about this fun day on the water on the Maritime Museum website.
Publick Day (April 11th)
Roll back in time with the Beaufort Historic Society to enjoy this open air market in Downtown Beaufort! The Beaufort Historic grounds are open and full of vendors selling treasures such as antiques, vintage items, arts and crafts, jewelry, baskets, pottery, and more! This is such a fantastic place to get a souvenir of your Emerald Isle vacation and an opportunity to get a taste of what a market place may have been like in the 1700s! Earth Day (April 22nd)
Spend a relaxing day along the beach in Emerald Isle and take in all the beauty of the nature around you!
Beaufort Food and Wine Festival (April 22nd – 26th)
The much anticipated annual event—the Beaufort Food and Wine Festival—is back again to celebrate a week of great food and wine. This week of fun is jam-packed with tons of great events for the adults to enjoy during their vacation this spring. Lists of dates with specific events can be found on the website, but just to give you a sneak peak, events include a fashion show, food and wine pairings, mingling with chefs, auctions, food and wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, and more! There is so much to do, so much to see, and so much to taste at this week-long event! Kayak Through History (April 24th)
If your kids enjoyed Kayaking for Kids (and who wouldn’t enjoy such a fun event?) and you want to give kayaking a try, then you should make sure to check out this great event! Hosted again by the North Carolina Maritime Museum, ages 12 and older can attend this event. This fun day on the water is hosted by Assistant Curator (of the Maritime Museum) Benjamin Wunderly and includes a tour of the salt marshes and sandbars around Beaufort, tales of kayaks throughout history, local fishing fleets, and boat builders. You won't want to miss this great day on the Crystal Coast! Experience is recommended, but safety lessons begin that day, so anyone is welcome.
Crystal Coast Earth Day Celebration (April 25th)
Celebrating Earth Day is more fun when you are on the Coast! This year, at the Fort Macon State Park, many local organizations are coming together to have fun with families and also teach about the importance of protecting our environment. Government agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the North Carolina Mammal Stranding Network, and many more groups are present to welcome visitors to learn about how to maintain our pristine beaches and keep a clean, healthy environment wherever you may go. Games, hands-on activities, music, and live animals are on hand for the whole family to enjoy! Don’t miss out!
