Hammocks Beach State Park

Hammocks Beach State Park is a great spot if you’re looking to spend some time outdoors around Emerald Isle and Swansboro. The park is best known for Bear Island, a quiet barrier island you can reach by ferry, kayak, or canoe. Once you’re there, you’ll find wide open beaches, calm surf, and plenty of space to spread out.

Besides the beach, the park also has a small visitor center, kayak launch, picnic areas, and paddle trails through the salt marshes. It’s a great place for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just a low-key day near the water.
