Plan a Trip to Emerald Isle Woods Park

Emerald Isle Woods Park is a beautiful 41-acre park located off of Coast Guard Road (turn right just after reaching Deer Horn Dunes). Park amenities include: disc golf course, floating dock, four grills, handicapped accessible, picnic pavilion, pier, restrooms, NC birding trail, and walking and hiking trails. Enjoy the Scenery on the Emerald Path

The Emerald Path is an 11-mile stretch of paved surface that runs from the Indian Beach town limits all the way to The Point at Bogue Inlet and offers fabulous views. The path winds through grassy areas along Coast Guard Road to Loon Drive, snakes through wooded areas from Loon Drive to the Welcome Center, meanders through the downtown district and passes the Municipal Complex at Black Skimmer Drive and ends at the eastern town limits. It’s perfect for walking, running, biking, in-line skating and skateboarding. Please remember that no motorized vehicles or apparatuses are permitted.

Visit The Point in Emerald Isle

The Point in Emerald Isle is accessible by parking at Station Street Park located at 11001 Coast Guard Road. From there it’s only a short 1/4-mile walk to the beach and to The Point. Take Station Street to Channel Drive to reach the beach. This beach access offers parking for 16 cars, a beautiful shade tree, picnic table, bike rack, and a really lovely stretch of beach. The Point is a local favorite spot located at the westernmost portion of Emerald Isle on Bogue Banks offering a large sandy beach ideal for surf fishing, shelling, photography, boating, and beach strolls. Beach driving is allowed with a permit. This hidden gem is directly across from Hammocks Beach State Park on Bogue Inlet. 

Get to Know the Emerald Isle Public Beach & Water Access Points 

The beach and water access points are popular spots for beach goers, water lovers and nature enthusiasts of all kinds. The two main public beach accesses in Emerald Isle are the Western Ocean Regional Access (WORA) located less than a half-mile from the B. Cameron Langston Bridge off Islander Drive and beside Queen’s Court Condominiums, and the Eastern Ocean Regional Access (EORA) located just over 6 miles from the B. Cameron Langston Bridge at 2701 Emerald Drive between Pier Point and Ocean Reef condominiums. Both beach access points are home to many local events and activities found throughout the year here, too.

The Emerald Isle boat launch facility is located on Bogue Sound at 6800 Emerald Drive near mile marker 18 on NC 58 (adjacent to Chapel By The Sea). The facility includes 4 launching ramps and parking for 112 vehicle/trailer combinations, and a separate parking lot with 18 single vehicle spaces. The boat launch is managed by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. It is free and open all day every day.
